After spending a few days on the Atlantic coast of Florida in New Smyrna Beach, we took off for the Gulf coast and spent two nights in Clearwater. This is the view from the hotel balcony.

A pelican gave me the stink-eye on Pier 60 because I didn't feed it any fish.
Back up on the hotel balcony, we watched the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico.
The next day I started out going for a swim in the hotel pool. After some pool swimming I hopped out, walked across the street, and went for a swim in the Gulf of Mexico. And guess what I did after that? Yup, went back across the street and went swimming in the pool again. A day well spent.
