North Dakota: The Enchanted Highway and Teddy Roosevelt National Park

North Dakota is still feeling the effects of the widespread flooding of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. Luckily I-94 was open for the trip, though cars were diverted on several occasions where the flooding could not be kept back from the roadway.

Anyone driving on I-94 with some time to spare should definitely check out The Enchanted Highway, home of the world's largest metal sculptures. The artist has several installations heading from the interstate to the town of Regent, ND (about 30 miles south of 94). Below is the first installation, Geese in Flight. I'm not trying to ruin the sculpture by inserting myself and Rob in the shot; however, having a person in there shows just how massive these pieces are!

Here is one of the pheasants from another installation, Pheasants on the Prairie. Just look at that stop sign and car in the lower right hand corner to see how tall this really is!

The Tin Family. The man in the middle is 45' tall, and the buttons on the woman's dress are made from telephone poles.

Taken from his feet looking up.

Finally made it to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the North Dakota Badlands!

North Dakota rush hour traffic was brutal.

Good thing this sign was here to tell the deer and the antelope where to play!
