Craters of the Moon National Park, Idaho

While driving from Boise to Craters of the Moon National Park, we passed through the town of Carey, ID where the 4-H fair happened to be going on. Of course we had to stop in!

This is Ivan, a true salt-of-the-earth character that we kept seeing while we were there.

Lasso practice!

Craters of the Moon National Park -- 75 square miles of barren, black land caused by a lava flow thousands of years ago.

Go, lava, go!

You can see a Tony in between the two columns. Field goal!

Walking through the field of lava...

Everyone was captivated by this little guy as he romped through the lava field chasing grasshoppers.

Tony exploring one of the many lava tube caves.
